VIDEO OF KIDS

Duane made a video montage pictures of the kids since Sophie was born. Don't worry! He didn't use all of them so it's only about 5 minutes long! I really enjoyed watching it and seeing how much my kids have grown and remembering how sweet they were...I mean are :) . It made me realize how beautiful these children are and how lucky Duane and I are to be their parents.

DYN-O-MITE

Every weeknight at 9:30 you can find Duane watching Good Times. He gets the biggest kick out of that show. I have to admit it is one of my favorite shows from when I was a kid (uh humm...I was VERY, VERY young!). Anyway, he says the show used to come on in New Zealand when he was a kid and I think he grew up thinking that all Americans grew up in the ghetto.

HUNGRY KIDS

OK...these kids have been out of school for only two weeks and they are eating us out of house and home! They are constantly eating pretzels, chips and salsa, juice boxes, peaches, grapes, strawberries, fruit cups, goldfish, and graham crackers. This stuff costs money, people! Any suggestions for keeping the appetites down???

POOL PARTY AT AUNTIE'S!!

When the cat's away the mice will play!! JB was out of town all week so Jill decided to have a pool party yesterday for the family so she would have some company. We had a super duper blast! The kids were all so well-behaved and the food was delicious. Jill made baby back ribs that fell off the bone and ribeye steaks from Took's. We also had my famous baked beans (Mom's recipe) and pasta salad with Key Lime Pie and cupcakes and brownies for dessert. Auntie also bought a snowcone machine so the kids all had two or three. It was so much fun and I hope we can do it again real soon! Thanks, Auntie!

GLOBAL WILDLIFE CENTER

Last week Jill took her girls and Sophie to the Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, Louisiana. It is a wildlife reserve that features an hour and a half Safari ride where the kids can feed the animals. The girls all had a blast and Sophie is still talking about it. Jill said it was really hot so we have decided that we will take our kids when the weather cools off a bit in October. Estelle had a great time, too, but the highlight of the trip for her was dumping the $25 a bag feed over the side of the tram while Jill was busy taking photos. She didn't feed the animals but the grass is well-nourished now!

JUDY'S VISIT

Judy and I split a fried shrimp poboy and an Old Tyme Special.
Buttery steak night! We all had filet mignon and it was divine. It was
raining cats and dogs and I slipped down and busted it in the parking lot
but that didn't keep me from the beef, people. Earlier in the day we
chowed down at Coyote Blues. Delish!
Judy had pancakes and I had an omelette topped with lump crabmeat,
cream sauce, and monterey jack cheese. Heaven!
Bloomin' onion for appetizer and Judy had chicken fingers while I had
chicken and ribs. We split this crazy brownie and ice cream thing for
dessert.
Aaahhh! The snowcone place! I have been going here for years but we
discovered yellow cake flavor. My new favorite is the wedding cake
stuffed (with ice cream) snowball with condensed milk on top. Diabetes,
anyone???

A few weeks back my friend, Judy, from St. Louis came to visit me for three days. We always have a blast when we are together. About 12 years ago were roommates at the spa in St.George for something like 6 months. Boy, did we really whoop it up back then as we were single and carefree. Now that I have 3 kids and the Ball-and-Chain we can't quite whoop it up like we used to but we still manage to have lots of fun. She always comes the week of my birthday which I just love because I get lots of birthday treats. We ate our way through this whole city while she was here. She is an avid fan of working out and eating low cal so she is able to go wild and basically eat like I do everyday (so sad!) when she comes here. I was a really lame blogger and didn't take any pictures of her with the kids while she was here so instead I thought I would document our time together with these logos of the places we ate. I can't believe I didn't have a heart attack before she left from eating all of this as I have not broken a sweat from exercising in 6 years. That is also the reason I never post a picture of myself!! Thanks for coming to visit, Judy!! Hope to see you again next May!!
