CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR THE GRANDKIDS

Love this cute ballerina reindeer!
I am a nut for just about anything in an apothecary jar.
The amaryllis are gorgeous!
Love this shot Kari took of the mantle.

Some of the loot.

My mom and I went to every CVS store in town trying to complete the set of reindeer. She was on a mission!
Lillianne and Aiden. Lillie is wearing a dress I made for Sophie back when life wasn't so hectic.
Gracie, Kaitlyn and Sophie
Enthralled with Santa.
Santa reads "Twas the Night Before Christmas".

The kids always love their Christmas party at my parents' house. They know they are going to get pizza, cake, soda, tons of presents and a visit from Santa. My mother really goes all out with the food, gifts, and decor and my dad gets credit too because he foots the bill! My mom turns her home into a Christmas wonderland both inside and out and it is completely gorgeous. This year she had huge ornaments hanging from the oak tree in her front yard and beautiful wreaths and Christmas bells in her archway. My kids got so many wonderful gifts this year so Santa will not have much work to do! Tomorrow night my parents are having a party for just us adults with food and games and tons of prizes. Can't wait!!
My sister Kari took all the good pics. I'm sure you can tell which ones I took!

GINGERBREAD HOUSE AND TREE

Ok...this is the first Gingerbread House I have ever made and I'm not going to say it was a brilliant success but the kids like it and that's what matters, right?? On the other hand, I am supremely satisfied with my colorful tree.

CHRISTMAS PICTURES 2009

Here are the 2009 Christmas pics of the kids. My sis did a great job and I am going to have a hard time picking just one for the Christmas cards so I will probably end up doing a collage. I can't believe how big my kids are getting! I put more pics from the shoot on Facebook because they are easier to upload.

NEW MOON

Ok, so I went to the matinee of New Moon on Friday and the theatre was full but not crazy so I got to enjoy 2 hours of quiet without the kids and the usual teenage suspects that go to these things. Well, quiet except for when Jacob took off his shirt (lots of giggling for that one) and when Edward and Bella were running through the forest in the "future" scene I heard lots of groans because it was about the cheesiest thing I've ever witnessed on film. I did not love this movie. I did not hate it either but I don't think I could sit through it again. I thought that it was really boring and I was glad when it was over. I was really really excited about the addition of the Volturi in this film and what a disappointment that they only had about two lines each. I was also cheesed out by the "Obi Wan"-like appearances of Edward when Bella was in danger. It just didn't sit right with me. I thought Jacob and Bella had zero chemistry. Just think of the Bella and Edward bedroom kiss from the Twilight movie and you will realize that those other two didn't even get CLOSE to that. So blah! Anyway, still really looking forward to Eclipse. Can't wait til summer!

Nanny loves to take pics! So fortunate for us. Here are some really sweet pics of my really sweet girl. Love the ones of her and her cousin Aiden. I wish baby Luke had been feeling better so he could have been in there too! www.karismithphotography.com

We had a really fantastic Halloween.  My sister had her annual Halloween party and the food was great and the Trick or Treating was even better. We all dressed up (I was a witch).   I can't believe all the candy my kids got.  Just the chocolate candy alone filled up a gallon size ziploc bag and the lollipops and hard candy filled up my biggest mixing bowl.  The costumes were really fun this year, too.  The best thing about Halloween for me is how much Andrew loves it.  He is completely into wearing his costume and Trick or Treating and he loves to go up to the houses and wait his turn and say "Trick or Treat!".  So fun to see that!  Of course, there was lots of food and desserts.  The kids love riding around in Uncle JB's "Trick or Treat Mobile" so they don't get tired of walking around the big neighborhood.  All in all a terrific Halloween!
