RED CARPET: SAG AWARDS

Kate! Kate! Kate! Yes, I love her.  I think she looks great in this dress and the color is vibrant  and on-trend.  I think it may be the way she carries herself that always wins me over.
Though Rachel Evan Woods has NASTY taste in men she hits the mark in this gorgeous gown.  The color is fantastic!
Love Viola Davis in this lovely yellow gown.  Extremely elegant and the one-shoulder silouette is all the rage at the moment.  The yellow is fab with her skin.
I just love this eggplant dress on Amy Adams.  Very feminine and fits her just great.
If you are gonna rock some fushia this is the way to do it.  Classic looking gown on Holly Hunter.
Anne has redeemed herself from the hideous Golden Globes gown she wore.  She looks like a greek goddess.

AND NOW FOR THE ROTTEN TOMATOES:

Ok, Angie, we know you would look gorgeous in a potato sack but do you actually have to WEAR ONE???  And this dress is just like her Golden Globes dress except it has sleeves.
Oh, Tina.  This is just unacceptable.  What IS this???
Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!  She looks like she is on her way to a rendevous with a matador.
The color of Eva's dress is very pretty but the gown looks like a prom dress to me.  Ick!
I think I would have like this more if it didn't have that black thing across the front.
It's Heath Ledger as the joker...oh, wait a minute, it's just Lisa Rinna!
I sure do love me some Julia Ormond.  Remember her as SABRINA????  Wha haaapen??  She is only 44 years old and she looks 60.  Moisturize, ladies!

Feel free to leave comments if you agree or disagree!

CUPCAKE REVIEW: SWEET WISHES

I finally got a chance to try cupcakes from Sweet Wishes in Baton Rouge located at 10889 Perkins Road (www.sweetwishescafe.com).  I have been wanting to check them out for a really long time but I usually go to BR on a Saturday and they weren't open on Saturdays but now they are so I had to stop by.  They offer lots of flavors (check out the photo) but only 8 per week.  For some unimaginable reason the cupcakes were not displayed in a case out front.  They are kept in the back.  I was very confused at first and a little skeptical but I was hell-bent on eating a cupcake so I ordered anyway.  I had decided that I would try two different kinds.  They sell for $2 a piece and are your normal size cupcake.  First, was Shimmy Shimmy Coconut (4th row, 3rd pic).  The cake was rather dense and very moist. The flavor was great but definitely not the best coconut cake I've had.  I did appreciate the coconut flakes in the cake, though.  The cream cheese frosting was perfect.  Just the right combo of tangy and sweet.  I am giving this cupcake 3 out of 5 stars.
Next was Heavy Duty Chocolate (3rd row, 4th pic).  Can I say heavenly???  Rich, dense, moist cake with TONS of chocolate chips inside.  If you are a chocoholic like me this will fix you for days.  Seriously...FOR DAYS!  The chocolate taste was so intense I could still taste it after the cupcake was gone.  It had the same wonderful cream cheese frosting as the other one.  This cupcake gets a 5 out of 5 stars.

LOST SEASON 5

Wednesday night at 8pm central eight long months of waiting will come to an end.  Eight months!!!  SO. COMPLETELY. EXCITED.

STYLISH OBAMAS

Politics aside, you have got to LOVE how the Obamas look.  They are always conservatively yet stylishly dressed.  I am loving how Sasha and Malia are always dressed like little girls and not like what I refer to as "prostitots".  Did the Bush girls ever look this classic??  I can't remember.  I just remember them drinking and slinking around.  Please don't disappoint me, Obama girls!

My niece Gracie had a fantastic report card so my sister, Jill, told her she could have a family picnic in their neighborhood park as a reward.  We were treated to Popeyes chicken (although my SIL Lauren thought we were having "pot pies"), sodas, and chocolate cake.  The kids played and the adults visited.  These great pics were taken by my sister Kari.  She has one of those swarzay cameras that can see a tick on a gnat's butt.  We had a really nice time and Andrew didn't run away (which always happens) but he did try to take a scooter away from another boy.  He just doesn't "get" that you can't have everything you see.  Luckily, he doesn't pitch a fit when we tell him he can't do those kinds of things.  He really is such a sweet boy.

GOLDEN GLOBES RED CARPET

LOVE Kate Winslet...she never gets it wrong.  I also love that she was once a chubby girl.

I usually think Drew Barrymore looks like a trainwreck but here she is pure glamour.  The hair is a little much but the dress is stunning.  The silhouette is gorgeous and the color is lovely.

This dress is my favorite of the night.  Could it fit her any better???

NOW FOR THE ROTTEN TOMATOES....

This dress is weird looking and kind of goth.  It just doesn't sit well with me.

No matter how you slice it this dress is just ugly.  Maggie Gyllenhaal needs to hire a stylist and if she has one she needs to fire a stylist.  OK...going to bed now.

ok...its 12:41am.  I slept all day Sunday so now I can't sleep so I am blogging.  Here are my best and worst dressed for the Golden Globes 2009.  Feel free to agree or disagree in the comment section.

TWILIGHT DVD

Here is the just released cover art for the Twilight DVD (release date March 21).  It will included 12 deleted scenes (including one from Midnight Sun!).  The laundry needs folding and the kids need feeding and I am blogging about Twilight...what is this "life" you speak of and how do I get one??
Ok...editing this post to say that Taylor Lautner will indeed reprise his role as Jacob in New Moon which has a release date of November 20, 2009.  I am really disappointed in this decision as I think he looks way too young and short to be the Jacob of the second book but whatever.  I am going to see that movie because of Edward not Jacob.  Seriously, they could cast Ozzy Osbourne as Jacob and I wouldn't care as long as Robert Pattinson is flashing his pearly whites at me at some point during the movie.  I'll say it again...I am in serious need of a life.

THE ORCHARD

I just want to let everyone in the Lafayette area know that my brother-in-law and his business partners have opened an Apple retail/resale store in the Target shopping center next to Buffalo Wild Wings.  They also handle Apple repairs which is so great because the nearest place around here is Baton Rouge.  So if you are a Macintosh person or you would like to be go check them out.  The store is supercool and very sleek.

BON QUI QUI

Well there hasn't been a lot of Waihi news these last couple of weeks and I have had a LOT of time on my hands staying home with the kids during Christmas break so I have been surfing the internet more than usual.  My faithful blog readers will remember the NAIL SALON video I posted in 2007 by Anjelah Johnson.  It is hysterical and my all-time favorite.  Well, here is another more recent one of hers called KING BURGER featuring her character Bon Qui Qui.  I also re-posted NAIL SALON.  Your welcome!
