SOPHIE'S SYMPHONY DEBUT

Here in our relatively small city of Lafayette we are very blessed to have our own symphony. Not only is the Acadiana Symphony a very good one but they are one of the handful of symphonies in the nation that have their own Conservatory. Tonight Sophie was lucky enough to get to play with the Acadiana Symphony. It is rare that young students are allowed to play along side these musicians but tonight was a fundraiser and they wanted to showcase the area's violin students. I was not allowed to video at the actual concert as it was being professionally filmed but I was able to video a bit at the dress rehearsal this afternoon. They are playing a Minuet by Bach. She has known this piece for quite a while so it was a relief that she didn't have to learn brand new music. We are very proud of her!

Wow! That sounds great! I wish Caroline would have stuck with the violin. But she is really loving the piano. She practices without my even asking! Sophie looks like a pro up there! Violin is definitely her instrument!!!
