Homeroom teacher Ms. McElroy
Gifted program teacher Ms. Street
Today was Sophie's 2nd grade honors program. She received a certificate for maintaining Honor Roll all year. Sophie is in a program where she spends half the school day doing 3rd grade math and english and she was able to keep her grades up even with the more challenging work. We are so proud of her and we appreciate all her hard work. She was asked by the music teacher to sing the solo in the class song. She was very nervous about it. She plays the violin in front of people all the time but she is not used to looking at people when she performs so it was a little uncomfortable for her but she pulled through it like a champ and I hope it was a confidence builder. I have posted the video of her singing. Sophie has many special talents. I am enjoying discovering them with her as she grows.

Her solo was great...she has a lovely voice (I tought voice for seven years-until Cameron was diagnosed). Love the crazy kid making faces next to her! And then the kids got way ahead of the beat and you could tell she was trying to sing WITH the piano. What a talented little girl!
At least we have a back up plan in case she doesn't get into Julliard with the violin.
Great job Sophie!
Kudos Sophie! You are just bubbling over with talent and extraordinary abilities. Kee up the good work.
She never ceases to amaze me. It was pitch perfect. She really is such a great girl - for so many reasons.
